SeisQC - Onboard seismic acquisition Quality Control

SeisQC is FSI's proprietary Seismic QC package, in use across Fugro’s fleet of 3D and 2D seismic acquisition vessels. SeisQC is an efficient, flexible and intuitive QC package. It is tightly coupled to other Fugro software applications; downwards to the Profocus ARGUS acquisition system, upwards to UNISEIS, Fugro’s proprietary seismic processing system. In this way, Fugro is able to offer a seamless solution, all the way from data recording to final workstation volumes.

SeisQC offers a full spectrum of QC tools ranging from RMS analysis to Source analysis, from Geometry assignment to Navigation QC. These are all available in real-time mode, as well as nearline. Furthermore, the multi-faceted GUI allows for easy identification of problems and fast fixes to enable timely delivery of QC products facilitating decisions on data acceptability. Key features of the SeisQC package include:

Graphical User Interface: Allows for full multi-dimensional process management, using a dynamic matrix that provides the user with various options for running QC flows. SeisQC is also session independent and the user may run any number of sessions at once without conflicts arising. Moreover, a panel displays a log file, as it is being compiled, which allows detailed investigation of progress within a QC flow.

Comprehensive suite of queuing/flow optimization capabilities: Allows the QC geophysicist to maximize the utilization of available hardware resources

Live QC displays during acquisition: With its real time capabilities, SeisQC offers a variety of ways to monitor both the system and the data, ranging from gun performance displays and RMS maps to stacked sections.

Gun Performance analysis: Data is displayed in real-tme, allowing comparison of an unlimited number of parameters such as individual gun performance, array or sub-array pressure, gun flag and gun depths.

RMS analysis tools: Integral to any Seismic QC package, SeisQC’s RMS utility allows for noise analysis at any level of detail. From pinpointing bad or noisy traces, to identification of environmental noise and accurate delineation of affected data subsets, SeisQC allows for real-time detection of problems. SeisQC also provides for an RMS overview of all acquired sequences, thereby enabling the user to ascertain overall noise trends, such as localized currents, throughout a survey area.
